Brisbane Physiotherapy, Brisbane Physio, Physio Brisbane & Physiotherapy Brisbane

Our physiotherapists provide physiotherapy treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions ranging from spinal injuries and pain, to sporting injuries, arthritis and general joint and muscular pain. HICAPS is available onsite.

Acute Injuries - if you sustain an injury immediately apply ice, compression and elevation. We recommend treatment commence within the first 48 hours. Having a dance injury doesn’t always necessitate that you stop dancing but professional guidance about what exercises you need to strengthen and rehabilitate together with guidance about dance levels is important.

The basic principle of chiropractic is that spinal adjustments can improve many health problems that are related to the nerves, skeleton and muscles. Spinal joints that are not working properly can irritate the nervous system. Chiropractors use manual treatments, referred to as spinal adjustments, to realign the joints of the spine. Once the mechanical structure of the spine is working properly, the body is able to maintain its own health and
wellbeing.

The first step is to identify a physiotherapist that is properly trained and located near to where you live or work. Your physio should be a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). If you work in the CBD, you should be able to find a Sydney physio within 6 to 8 blocks of where you work. Aside from the city physio, you will undoubtedly find that there is a clinic near your home also. Your doctor may also be able to recommend a physiotherapist that they know and trust although it should be pointed out that referrals are not necessary.

Our physio’s have expertise using a very wide variety of techniques including:

  • Hands-on treatments such as joint mobilisations, manipulation and massage
  • Tailored exercise programs so that you can keep working on your recovery between your sessions. These may include stretches, strengthening and core stability, and are especially important in minimising the risk of your problems returning in the future.
  • We will discuss any important lifestyle factors such as desk postures and exercise activities that may need to be adjusted to help you recover
  • We may also use ultrasound, heat, ice or interferential to help speed up your recovery
In the event that more specialised help like orthopaedic surgery is required, we work closely with your doctor to ensure the best pre- and post-op rehabilitation is achieved.Orthopaedics is a specialised area of medicine that mostly relies on surgery for its outcomes, therefore the invasive nature of surgery often makes it a last resort considered by your Doctor and Physio.
